Plastic pipes are an important branch of the many components of chemical building materials. The application fields of plastic pipes are usually water supply, drainage, gas, floor heating, power communication, agriculture, fire protection and other fields. From the perspective of the different classifications of chemical materials used, PVC well pipes can be divided into polyethylene (PE) pipes, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipes, polypropylene (PP) pipes, ABS pipes, polybutene (PB) pipes, etc.
The service life of plastic pipes is determined according to the method of GB/T18252-2018 "Plastic piping system: Determination of long-term hydrostatic strength of thermoplastic pipes by extrapolation method". This is a method of statistically extrapolating and predicting the long-term strength performance of thermoplastic materials or products through the results of the hydrostatic strength test of pipes. Most internationally, this method is used to estimate that plastic pipes generally have a life span of 50 years at a temperature of 20°C.
